As a fashion blogger, there are some major key points to pulling a blog post together. In my opinion, they are the clothing, the content and great photos. It's taken me quite a while to find a comfortable balance between the three. After taking some time off from blogging, I realized that my regular scenic photos were no longer eye catching and I needed to spend more time finding more interesting places to shoot. A good friend of mine is a natural explorer and finds herself touring NYC stumbling upon a number of hidden gems... When I mention to her if she had any ideas where I could take some awesome blog pics, her list of suggestions blew me away. {Check out her blog -

For this particular shoot, we decided to explore Snug Harbor - Staten Island's Botanical Garden. My friend showed me several pictures of her visit and after many lazy days and a few - "I'm to tired to go out" - I finally said YES and to my surprise, I was quite happy I finally went!! After a a 20 minute scenic ride on the SI Ferry and a quick 10 minute bus ride - we arrived to one of NYC's hidden oases.
Our first stop at Snug Harbor was The New York Chinese Scholar's Garden. The architecture and wonderful details of this garden were quite exquisite. I loved the energy - just peaceful and serene!
